New Studio at NTC@LibertyStation

Hi all. Its been QUITE awhile!!! I've been posting more on Facebook lately and have been neglecting this O.G. blog/website for sometime.  Some new happenings have been keeping me busy, namely I just acquired a NEW studio space at NTC @ Liberty Station. Its a pretty dope location. The studios also host a cool event every FIRST FRIDAY of the month where resident artists are encouraged to open up their studios and congregate with patrons. Anything to help promote and sell some work right?

Here's my new studio address:

2690 Historic Decatur Road, Ste. 207
San Diego, CA 92106

Its located in Barracks 19, second floor. I don't have any current studio hours so shoot me an email or text for an appointment.

Sketching

Some scribbles for the night. Pencil & India ink on copy paper. Feels good to try something new, non expensive materials for experimentation makes it more easier to not care if you mess up or not. Plus sketching is always a great brain exercise too.

Comic Con 2013 was over. Thanks everyone that stopped by. I did not advertise much at all here, mostly thru Facebook since the social networking is quicker to reach my peoples. Need to keep up more on here too since it feels like a firearm that has been neglected and collecting rust. So please add The PaperAmmo Co. facebook page to your account if you have not done so. Otherwise its all good here too.

Love and Education

Love and Education

It has been a week since the tragedy that took the lives of 27 innocent lives in Newtown, CT. We at the PaperAmmo Co. have not posted anything pertaining to the incident as we feel that its important to respect the families and friends of the lives lost. We feel that it is disrespectful to capitalize on the sensationalist media pushing for gun control. Right now is their time to mourn not cheerlead for political agendas.

Love and education is the key not gun control. To eliminate it or put any restrictions undermines the establishment of the 2nd Amendment. What is the purpose of the 2nd Amendment?
As stated: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Its not about hunting. Its not about target shooting. Its not about having a gun collection. Its about keeping the authoritative powers that be to govern their job in a respectable manner. Its about Americans being able to fight against invading armies. Its about protecting your sovereignty. Many American patriots lost their lives to establish the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Its shameful for the restructuring of these documents in any form. To do so is to change the establishment of the country. It means we will not be Americans anymore.

Many people are miseducated in firearms. There is the debate of regulating how many rounds a firearm should hold, 10 rounds instead of 30 rounds in a rifle magazine and 15 in a pistol magazine. Is the proposed gun control advocates saying that having 30 rounds maximum capacity allows for you to gun down more lives as opposed to 10 lets you kill less? I'm sure the criminal will just get 3 magazines and reload quickly if they wanted to. The important thing to remember is that 1 life has just as much importance as 30 lives lost. Everyone is important. The sniper rifle presents more of a threat being able to hit targets precisely at long distance. Even those rifles are able to shoot off single fire with 5 round average capacity. The only way to fully have gun control is to banish all guns and the technology and resources to produce them. But will this truly stop man from killing man?

The firearm is a truly power tool. Stress responsibility not recklessness. Stress education not misguidance. There is a reason why the pen is mightier than the sword for the mind is the most important weapon in possession to a human being. And with that we must exercise it with information and enlightenment. This is why being able to exercise our First Amendment rights has more importance than the Second. They go hand in hand to reinforce each other.

The holiday season is about love. Its about spending time with family. Its about remaining true to your faith, whatever it may be. Its about going out to enjoy nature, spending quality time on an activity you enjoy, traveling, mediating, living life. Its not a time for politics. Lets set aside our differences and be at peace. Time is a great healer and teacher. In the bigger context of life on earth each one of us has a mortality. We all have a set time here to enjoy life experiences with one another. Of course no one wishes for horrible experiences to happen. They do happen wether its man made, accidents or nature's causes. If it is in our powers to prevent a catastrophe to occur then its about making split second decisions at that point in time. The other argument is to prepare for it because we know its going to occur just not exactly when.

Lets all send prayers to the people of Newtown this holiday season.  Lets keep the vigil going for ambassador John Christopher Stevens and brave americans lost during the attack in Benghazi. Lets also pray for innocent lives lost due to collateral damage from drone strikes. Let us not forget why we are able to live in the greatest country in the world, to be able to discuss and disagree on ideas freely without being infringed upon. Love your fellow Americans and love your freedom. Many lives were lost that fought for it. Lets not lose anymore.
